Surfaced documentation

Surfaced audits websites for SEO, page speed, answer engine optimisation (AEO) and AI visibility, then sends branded reports with the exact fixes. These docs cover the app, the MCP server for AI coding tools and the REST API.

What does Surfaced measure?#

Every report scores a site from 0 to 100 in four areas and combines them into an overall health score.

  • SEO: titles, meta descriptions, headings, canonicals, indexability, sitemap, robots.txt, broken links, thin content, alt text and internal linking.
  • Speed: Lighthouse scores and Core Web Vitals (LCP, INP, CLS) from Google PageSpeed Insights, including real-user data when available.
  • AEO: schema.org coverage, FAQ markup, llms.txt, AI crawler access, question-led headings and answer-first paragraphs.
  • AI visibility: whether Claude, using live web search, names or cites the site for real buyer questions, compared with competitors.

How do reports reach clients?#

Reports run on a schedule (daily, weekly or monthly) or on demand. Each one is emailed in the client's own branding, and has a private share link with charts, every issue and a prioritised fix plan.

Can developers use it from their tools?#

Yes. The MCP server lets Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Cursor and VS Code check the page you are building and apply fixes, and the REST API exposes the same features over HTTP.
